Are you interested in everything? So are we.
MICRO’s award-winning team of designers, technologists, and storytellers create vending machine sized museums that bring the museum experience into unexpected places.
Our team is mostly split across NYC and the San Francisco Bay Area, but we've worked with team members all over the world.
We're excited about diversity and inclusivity, and we value the experiences and backgrounds that each team member brings to MICRO.
Our museums travel to unexpected places, and so do we. We're looking for team members who are passionate about building a company culture that is transparent, kind, and resourceful.

MICRO: Graphic Designer
Project-based. Part time. NYC or remote.
We are looking for a jungle cat to work with our team on the redesign of our second museum series, the Perpetual Motion Museum. Design will include layout of copy and graphics on the museum itself, generation of new graphics to illustrate our content, and layout for printing graphics on 3M, cut vinyl and dry transfer.
This is a part time contract with a swift timeline for interview and onboarding. Approximately 4-8 hours / week. Compensation will be based on experience.
As MICRO’s in-house Fabricator your high quality fabrication superpowers will help outfit, maintain, and drive our growing fleet of six-foot-tall museums.
You will make sure that MICRO’s museums are beautifully built and running perfectly. From masterfully operating drills, drivers, and dremels through to applying graphics on Corian, you are a Jack, Jill or Jungle Cat of all fabrication materials, techniques, and power tools, who is excited to help MICRO as we grow.
Hours are flexible, beginning at 8-16 hours (1-2) days per week. Pre-arranged weeks of full time work may be available. NYC based.
Come collaborate with MICRO to research and develop MICRO’s program over the winter of 2018-2019.
Are you a college student who likes to be on stage, engage the public with science, and think about where the universe came from or what happens deep, deep in the world’s oceans?
MICRO is looking for curious, motivated college students to help us research and develop our very first Explainers Program at the Smallest Mollusk Museum, a six-foot-tall natural history museum in Lincoln Medical Center in the South Bronx. We’re looking for students with a passion for education. You don’t need to have a background in science, but you do need to be curious about how the world works, and why.
MICRO’s R&D Explainers will engage with training and R&D program development at both the Smallest Mollusk Museum at Lincoln Medical Center in the South Bronx and at MICRO’s studio in Brooklyn. Hours can be flexible.
MICRO: the museum FLEET TEAM
MICRO is assembling a team to help us transport, install, and maintain tiny science museums. You'll be installing museums in the field in places ranging from libraries to civic centers, at events and... all over!
You'll be doing basic exhibit maintenance, checking in on and cleaning the museums, interfacing with our venue partners, and giving the occasional tour, because you can't stand near a MICRO museum and not attract some curious attention.
Do you have fabrication, model-building, or installation experience? Are you a set builder or theater tech wiz? We want to hear from you.
Must be based in NYC and have an active drivers license.
MICRO's museums are for all kinds of visitors. Our team includes all kinds of people. As we grow, we are excited to build an organization that is welcoming and supportive. MICRO encourages applications from people of all races, backgrounds, orientations, religions, and genders. Non-US citizens OK, however MICRO is not able to sponsor visas at this time.
