Everyone loves ice cream, but do you know when it was invented, and how it’s made?


WHAT THE FACT?

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? Asparagus? Bread? Grated Cheese? Believe it or not, these were some of the first ice cream flavors ever invented.

Ice cream is made up of air. Ice cream is made up of about 30-50% air. That’s why it’s so fluffy!

MEET THE BUILD TEAM:The Museum of Icecream was designed by Alex Cuatlayo and her five siblings. Alex (18), Joanna (15), Carla (14), Daniel (12), Daniella (12) and Frank (10) live with their parents in the Bronx, NY. They chose to design a museum about ice cream because it is one interest they all share in common. 
Alex Cuatlayo is a Student Advisor for MICRO’s Explorer Program, and she used her science communication skills to teach her siblings how to research and fact-check their museum. You can check out photos of the Museum of Ice Cream in the photo gallery below!
